Bellevue Depot

  • ​Built in 1869 by Omaha Southwestern Railroad​
  • Oldest train depot in Nebraska
  • Moved three times to preserve the building 
  • In 1987 it was moved near the museum at Gemini Park.
  • ​Tours may be arranged with museum staff.

Bellevue Log Cabin

  • Regarded as oldest building in Nebraska
  • Built between 1830 - 1835
  • Added to National Register of Historic Places in 1970
  • Restored to near original condition
  • Tours available by appointment only



Schramm Park State Recreation Area

  • Home to the oldest state fish hatchery in Nebraska operating from 1879-1973. 
  • Hatched over 20 species of fish during its operation. 
  • Became a State Recreation Area under the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1937. 
  • Now houses Schramm Education Center, hiking trails, and the historic hatching house.

  • Relocated from Springfield, NE in 2014
  • Restored to near original condition
  • Tours may be arranged with museum staff



Moses Merrill Mission Site

  • ​Established as a school for local Native American children in 1835 by Moses and Eliza Wilcox Merrill.
  • A favorite field study site for archeology graduate students from UNO.
